GMTK 2019 48h Release
We published "Only One 1"!
This game has been made in 48 hours for the GMTK Game Jam.
I didn't publish a jam game in a long time, and it's good to come back to this, I missed the thrill of the last hours and the joy when finally testing the final build before pushing it!
I am so happy of what we were able to accomplish during this jam.
First, we wanted to make a solo game in a single arena. But then, we added 3 tutorial levels to explain the mechanics in simple arenas, then we added multiple arenas as a small campaign. I'm proud we were able to add more content to the game!
And then, 3 hours before the end, we decided we wanted to battle each other and created the multiplayer mode. It meant one new arena, new controls for two players (and actually we support up to 9 players, but didn't have time to make the screen to select the number of players), and update the physics engine so 1s can grapple other 1s, and that their attacks can be cancelled. I'm so proud we managed to deliver this on time.
We'll continue developping this game for about a week, to polish it a bit, improve the level and enemy design, make a final mix of the sounds & music, and add a scene to be able to play multiplayer with a lot of friends!
